About Us: History
FIRM HISTORY
Griffith & Griffith's civil litigation practice centers on trials
and appeals in state and federal courts on behalf of public sector clients.
Our firm's record of service to the community, state and bar began with
Ellis Griffith, who earned an L.L.M and Juris Doctor from the University
of Mississippi School of Law in 1950 and a Masters In Taxation from New
York University in 1951. All of the attorneys who followed in his footsteps
earned their Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of
Law. Building on a solid foundation of professionalism and commitment to
equal justice and the rule of law, their practice focuses on representation
and defense of state and local governments, city and county officials and
public sector insurers in the areas of election law, civil rights, employment
discrimination, public sector insurance coverage, and environmental law.
Our firm has developed a comprehensive approach to the practice of state
and local governmental law. We strongly advocate continued professional
education and career development through bar-sanctioned seminars, institutes
and publications.
Our practice is
enhanced by the personal attention and depth of experience that a four-lawyer
firm can provide. Our firm's ability to serve and be
responsive to the needs and best interests of our clients is enhanced by
cutting-edge technology, remote computer access that enables us to "carry
the firm" with us anywhere in the nation, electronic data retrieval
and storage that gives our clients immediate access to crucial information,
and computer-assisted legal research through WestLaw, LexisNexis and other
online services that enable us to pass on significant savings in time and
cost to our clients. These and other advances in the technological tools
of modern law practice have helped us meet the needs of governmental clients
statewide and provide a solid base of operations for a multi-state governmental
practice. Members of the firm are recognized as leaders in their field.
